Our initial focus is children and families, connecting early concerns and relevant digital traces to authorised safeguarding and investigation workflows

By the Time a Case Reaches Police, the Story May Be Fragmented
Grooming, extortion and fraud can move across games, messaging services and other platforms. A family may arrive with screenshots, usernames and partial conversations, while relevant details are difficult to organise or may no longer be available
Europol’s IOCTA 2026 describes a cybercrime landscape spanning attacks, online fraud and child exploitation, with new technologies enabling criminals. Better reporting and careful preservation can help responders identify what needs attention and what information is still missing
Clearer Reports
Guide people through relevant questions and organise information into a consistent structure
Earlier Prioritisation
Surface urgency indicators for trained reviewers and agreed response channels
More Useful Digital Traces
Preserve authorised submissions and their provenance so investigators can assess the available material
Tools Being Developed With Operational Needs in Mind

- 01Guided ReportingHelp a child, trusted adult or other reporter explain what happened in accessible language. Collect the relevant service, account identifiers, dates, reported behaviour and immediate safety concerns through a structured flow
- 02Standardised Case PreparationOrganise submitted information into a timeline and a report format agreed with the agency. Identify missing fields and distinguish the reporter’s account, submitted material and automated observations
- 03Preservation and ProvenanceScope secure storage of authorised submissions, source references, original files, timestamps, integrity checks and access history. Record what was supplied and how it was handled, subject to the agency’s evidence procedures
- 04Triage and RoutingUse agreed rules and risk indicators to support prioritisation by authorised staff. Route a report to the appropriate safeguarding or investigative channel; an automated signal is not a finding that a crime occurred
- 05Trace OrganisationHelp reviewers connect relevant usernames, links, message references and transaction identifiers within authorised material. Record confidence and uncertainty so a possible link is not mistaken for verified attribution
- 06Case System IntegrationScope interfaces to existing intake or case-management systems, with agreed fields, roles, retention and handover procedures. Avoid requiring investigators to work through an unrelated parallel system
From a Family’s Concern to an Actionable Handover

- 01A Concern Is RaisedA child or trusted adult starts a guided report and sees the relevant support options
- 02Relevant Material Is SubmittedThe reporter provides available identifiers and other authorised information through the agreed process
- 03The Report Is OrganisedThe system prepares the timeline, notes missing information and flags possible urgency for review
- 04A Trained Responder Reviews ItStaff determine the appropriate safeguarding action, referral or investigative next step
- 05The Handover Is RecordedMaterial is transferred through the authorised channel, with provenance and access records maintained according to procedure
- 06Follow-Up Is ProvidedThe reporter receives the information the agency can appropriately share about receipt and next steps
Protect the Person While Supporting the Case
Reporting should offer a route to a trusted adult or support service where involving a parent may be unsafe. Emergency concerns must point to the established urgent-response channel, with service coverage and response expectations stated clearly
The tools are being designed for purpose-limited access, secure handling and human review. They do not confer investigatory powers or replace lawful requests to platforms. Admissibility, attribution and investigative decisions remain with the competent authorities
Any handling of suspected child sexual abuse material must use an agency-approved process and appropriate legal and technical controls. A general family reporting interface should not encourage copying or redistributing it
A Reporting Approach That Can Extend Beyond Child Safety
The same structured intake and trace-handling approach can be adapted for scams, impersonation, cyber extortion and other defined threats affecting adults or organisations. Each extension requires its own legal basis, reporting fields, access rules and validation
Shape a Reporting Tool Around Your Agency’s Needs
Bring an intake challenge, case type or safeguarding workflow. We will work with your team to define a development pilot, integration requirements and acceptance criteria
